Cincinnati Modern is a small group of dedicated artists and dealers of vintage 20th century design and art. For the past 12 years, Cmodern has bought and sold furnishings from Boston to Palm Springs. Mid-century modern has been on an unprecedented roller coaster of investment value, mostly up. Names like Dunbar, Knoll, Paul McCobb, Paul Evans, Herman Miller, and Hans Wegner have dominated the scene. The latest project starting this last summer involves industrial foundry patterns artfully(our opinion) assembled into sculpture, furniture, decorative vessels, figures and architectural walls. The look is not only colorful and folk-artful, it recaptures the streamline sci-fi groove of Art Deco, and biomorphic freeform of mid-century modern. The large scale robots and daisies will electrify any large common area from lobbies to nightclubs. And remember, all of our art material has been rescued directly from the foundry that planned to throw it all in the dumpster. The pattern makers of the early 20th century will be happy to know that their extreme craftsmanship did not go to waste. Made mostly of old growth mahogany, they remain in original aged condition. We have cleaned and oiled each piece to preserve the look for a long time.
